Dallas, Texas

The Dallas Independent School District (ISD) in Texas receives funding from CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to conduct the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). Dallas Independent School District has been monitoring risk behaviors of high school students via the YRBS since 1991.


Programs in Action

Conducting the Youth Risk Behavior Survey

  • Administering the YRBS to collect health risk behavior data representative of Dallas students in grades 9–12.
  • Disseminating YRBS results district-wide to administrators, classroom teachers, school counselors, nurses, and community partners.
  • Collaborating with partners to use YRBS results in funding applications, program planning, and evaluation efforts.
