CSG alerts state elected and appointed officials to emerging social, economic, and political trends; offers innovative state policy responses to rapidly changing conditions; and advocates multistate problem solving to maximize resources and competitiveness. CSG serves the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of state government through leadership education, research, and information services.

CSG's Program in Action

CSG is supported by DASH in collaboration with the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and other Centers at CDC.

  • Developing at least three issues briefs on different school health topics that impact child and adolescent health, including school wellness policies, school mental health programs, and adolescent health disparities.
     
  • Convening a meeting with state legislators to focus on legislative activities for childhood obesity prevention.
     
  • Creating three sets of talking points for legislators and their health policy staff on such health topics as obesity prevention and nutrition in schools.
