Eligibility and Application Information
Eligibility
To be eligible you must —
- Be a medical student in your 2nd or 3rd year of medical school at time of application
- Be willing to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia for the duration of the fellowship
Education
You must be enrolled in a medical school accredited by one of the following:
- Liaison Committee on Medical Education
- American Osteopathic Association
Experience
Clinical or clerkship experience is preferred.
Citizenship
You must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.

Supporting Documents
In addition to the online application, originals of all supporting documents must be postmarked by December 2, 2011.
Letters of Recommendation
- Three letters of recommendation are required
- emailed or faxed letters are not acceptable
- Provide recommenders with a copy of Instructions for Letters of Recommendation
- Letters should be from persons who know you professionally, are familiar with your achievements and future aspirations, and can speak to your personal qualities and professional attributes
- At least one letter must be from a medical school faculty member
- One letter must be from your dean of student affairs (or equivalent), which must include approval for a 10–12 month absence from medical school to attend the fellowship
Transcripts
- Provide official copies of undergraduate, graduate (if applicable) and medical school transcripts
- High school transcripts are not required
