Campers were introduced to statistical concepts, learning how to formulate a statistical question and collect, analyze, and interpret the necessary data. Statistical activities included (1) collecting data such as foot length to calculate summary  statistics such as minimum, maximum, and average, and plotting the data using box and whisker charts; and (2) collecting data to explore campers’ favorite foods and plotting the data using histograms.

In the afternoon, campers had a visit from the Assistant Director of the University of Maryland’s Gymkana, Ben Prescott, who  unleashed their inner gymnast testing their balance.
