The Informatics Training in Place Program (I-TIPP) is a pilot program aimed at addressing public health informatics (PHI) training needs at CDC and in state and local health departments. I-TIPP is designed to build informatics knowledge and skills of workers while they remain on their jobs. • Gain experience in solving problems related to Meaningful Use, electronic health records, and electronic laboratory reporting
  • Gain access to training resources related to CDC informatics projects
  • Complete an I-TIPP project related to Meaningful Use of electronic health records, electronic laboratory reporting, or integration of public health and health care information systems

Benefits to CDC and State and Local Health Departments

  • Build capacity to implement projects related to Meaningful Use, electronic health records, and electronic laboratory reporting
  • Enhance integration of public health and health care information systems
  • Develop partnerships within and outside CDC that contribute to sustainable informatics workforce development
