BEAM Dashboard
Decades of outbreak data at your fingertips!
BEAM Dashboard is CDC’s interactive online program for searching and accessing data reported through the National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS), which includes the Foodborne Disease Outbreak Surveillance (FDOSS), the Animal Contact Outbreak Surveillance System (ACOSS), and the Waterborne Disease Outbreak Surveillance System (WBDOSS).
The interactive maps, graphs, and charts in BEAM Dashboard help you learn about reports of outbreaks of foodborne, waterborne, and enteric (intestinal) diseases spread by person-to-person contact, environmental contamination, animal contact, and other means. You can see information on outbreaks caused by bacterial, viral, and parasitic agents by:
- Year
- State
- Mode of transmission
- Confirmed or suspected cause
- Type of food, ingredient, animal, or water source
- Location of food preparation
- Setting of exposure
- Numbers of outbreaks, illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths
For more information on how to interpret the data and on limitations to keep in mind, look at the BEAM Dashboard FAQ or contact NORS staff at NORSDashboard@cdc.gov.
**NORS data in BEAM Dashboard include foodborne disease outbreaks reported to FDOSS since 1973, animal contact outbreaks reported to ACOSS since 2009, and waterborne disease outbreaks reported to WBDOSS since 1971.
What happened to NORS Dashboard?
NORS Dashboard has migrated to the BEAM Dashboard. All of the data that were available through NORS Dashboard can be found in BEAM Dashboard.
