
Positive Health Outcomes Through Mobile Technology
The CDC Mobile Health Coalition (MHC) is an CDC-wide organization of experts and persons interested in the utilization of mobile applications to improve the health, safety and preparedness of people in the United States and globally. Its purpose is to optimize CDC's ability to utilize mobile technologies for health information dissemination, data collection, and health and safety interventions.
The Coalition’s mission includes:
- Further the understanding and use of mobile technologies at CDC;
- Provide leadership for the public health community’s adoption of mobile technology to influence health behavior and facilitate public health practice;
- Identify and inventory CDC’s current and planned mobile projects;
- Facilitate communication, collaboration and partnerships with CDC staff and other organizations outside CDC working in mobile health;
- Expand the new MHC Web site at http://www.cdc.gov/mobilehealth/ to centralize mobile data, statistics, and other relevant resources; and
- Produce research-based guidance, written best practices, and other tools to foster mobile health efforts.
