National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS)

The National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (NNDSS) collects and compiles case counts of nationally notifiable infectious diseases, including STEC. STEC cases are not currently reported by serogroup to NNDSS.

National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS)

The National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS) Annual Human Isolates Report includes antimicrobial resistance data on enteric bacteria (including E. coli O157) isolated from humans.

Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network (FoodNet)

The Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network (FoodNet) conducts surveillance for enteric diseases (including STEC) diagnosed by laboratory testing of samples from patients. The surveillance area comprises Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Tennessee and selected counties in California, Colorado, and New York.

National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS)

The National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS) is a web-based platform used by local, state, and territorial health departments in the United States to report waterborne and foodborne disease outbreaks and enteric disease outbreaks transmitted by contact with environmental sources, infected persons or animals, or unknown modes of transmission to CDC.
