Outpatient surgery

According to the American Hospital Association, defined as a scheduled surgical service, whether major or minor, performed on patients who do not remain in the hospital overnight. Outpatient surgery may be performed in operating suites also used for inpatient surgery, specially designated surgical suites for outpatient surgery, or procedure rooms within an outpatient care facility. A surgical operation involving more than one surgical procedure is considered one surgical operation.
