New CDC Data Show U.S. Cases Increased Again in 2022
Preliminary TB data show that the number of U.S. TB disease cases increased by 5% in 2022 to 8,300 cases, but did not return to pre-pandemic levels. The data signal a rebound in cases following the pandemic, and show considerable increases among some groups, including children aged 4 and under, people who are incarcerated, and people from some racial and ethnic groups. CDC is calling on healthcare providers and communities disproportionately affected by TB to Think. Test. Treat TB.
