CDC's Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS)

Audience: Laboratory and Testing Professionals

Level: Laboratory Update

The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC) meets virtually on April 12–13 this spring. No registration is required for this public meeting, which will be held using Zoom video conferencing. Find more information on the Upcoming Meeting page of the CLIAC website.

The biannual CLIAC meetings are an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals to receive quality and safety updates from CDC, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Presentations and CLIAC discussion will focus on workgroup reports for the CLIA Regulations Assessment Workgroup, the CLIA Certificate of Waiver and Provider-performed Microscopy Procedures Workgroup, and the laboratory’s role in advancing health equity. Find the complete agenda on the CLIAC Meeting page.

CLIAC requests that public comments be submitted by Monday, April 10, for this meeting. You can email comments to CLIAC@cdc.gov. Written comments will be included in the meeting Summary Report posted on the CLIAC website.

Please save the date and plan to attend the virtual CLIAC meeting in April.
