What We Do

The International Infection Control Branch works with partners and countries around the world to advance global healthcare safety.

The International Infection Control Branch (IICB), in CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), works to protect patients and healthcare personnel globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Working closely with partners and countries, we support sustainable solutions to infectious disease threats in healthcare delivery including healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), antimicrobial resistance (AR), and infectious disease outbreaks.
