Purpose

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) announcement is intended to help CDC reach a larger proportion of clinical laboratory professionals and bridge, train, and sustain the laboratory community to support rapid, large-scale responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies. This NOFO aims to support the following strategies to help build laboratory preparedness and response competencies among clinical laboratory professionals:  

Bridge— strengthening essential links between clinical laboratory and public health laboratory training/continuing education professionals and staff at CDC 

Train— developing and evaluating education and training resources for clinical laboratory professionals 

Sustain— expanding the reach of CDC’s training and workforce development resources among the clinical laboratory community and promoting awareness of the laboratory profession to broader audiences  

Successful outcomes of the work performed under this CoAg depend on:  

  • The capacity to expand the reach of training and workforce development resources among the clinical laboratory community across the US  
  • The ability to provide technical assistance and logistical support to CDC for training and workforce needs assessments  
  • The ability to develop and evaluate education and training resources for clinical laboratory professionals to be ready, respond, and lead others 
  • A history of successful partnerships, credibility, and influence among clinical laboratories and clinical laboratory staff 

 

Eligibility

This NOFO is a full and open, unrestricted eligibility opportunity. Varying organizational types are eligible to apply. Read the announcement for additional information.

Funding Period

This NOFO has an annual total award ceiling of approximately $1 million.  

Budget period length: 12 months 

Period of Performance: 3 years (September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2025)
