Funding overview

2019-2024

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is focusing on a statewide surveillance project to assess exposure to heavy metals, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), polychlorinated biphenyls, and organochlorine pesticides in adult residents. The purpose is to establish exposure reference levels in the state. In addition, Michigan is conducting a targeted investigation to assess occupational exposures to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances among firefighters.
