States are showing progress in reducing HAIs. Here are their stories.

In this post on the Safe Healthcare Blog, two scientists from the Wadsworth Center Bacteriology Laboratory in Albany, NY—part of CDC’s Antibiotic Resistance Lab Network—describe how they used specialized testing to rapidly identify the bacteria that caused an outbreak at a large hospital. The lab was then able to pinpoint the antibiotics to which that bacteria were resistant.
