The Impact of a State-Sponsored Mass Media Campaign on Use of Telephone Quitline and Web-Based Cessation Services

State media exposure (as measured by target rating points [TRPs]) had immediate effects on the number of Florida Quitline and Web Coach registrants. Florida Quitline use peaked when the first CDC’s Tips From Former Smokers (“Tips”) campaign was aired in spring 2012. Data for Florida quitline use are from Alere Wellbeing. Data for TRPs are from Alma DDB.
