April 11, 2023 – STI Cases Continued to Escalate in 2021
Reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis all increased between 2020 and 2021 – reaching a total of more than 2.5 million reported cases – according to CDC’s final surveillance data. CDC Scientists noted particularly jarring increases in syphilis and congenital syphilis in that time.
