Submission and Eligibility FAQs

As indicated under Other Information (page 39, under “h”), the list of optional attachments that can be accepted includes resumes/CVs, Position descriptions, Letters of support, Organization Charts, Non-profit organization IRS status forms (if applicable), Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding, and Bona Fide Agent status documentation (if applicable). “Applicants may not attach documents other than those listed; if other documents are attached, applications will not be reviewed.”

Applicants can use the term Principal Investigator (PI) and (Co-PI’s) in their applications, but only one name can be listed for the PI.

No. Please submit CVs, which highlight how applicants’ career and expertise is applicable to this Funding Opportunity.

If references are included in the Project Narrative, then they will be counted towards the 20-page limit. Alternatively, previous publications could be mentioned in CVs (with no page limit).

This NOFO is restricted to domestic settings. As mentioned under Funding Opportunity Description (page 3, under “d”), this NOFO will support achievement of the overarching goals of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, VH, STD, and TP Prevention (NCHHSTP). Specifically, results from mathematical models of HIV, VH, STDs, and TB will inform prevention and control efforts of public health practitioners at the national and state levels (Background; page 2, under “1.a”). In addition, the list of previous publications relevant to NCHHSTP prevention activities (page 3, under ”e” or pages 6-7, Table 1) includes only studies limited to domestic modelling.

As indicated under Additional Information on Eligibility (p.16), this NOFO does not have an award ceiling. Please note that the approximate average award is $1 million.

As mentioned under Award Information (p.15), an approximate average award for this funding opportunity is $1,000,000 per budget period. As indicated under Budget Narrative (p.23-24), budgets should include salaries and wages, fringe benefits, consultant costs, equipment, supplies, travel, and other categories. For additional information on how to prepare a budget request (with examples to help with this process), please see Budget Preparation Guidelines Cdc-pdf[PDF – 416 KB]. It should be noted that although budgets are required, they are not scored (p.30).

Since this is a domestic award, no foreign institution can be used as a collaborative partner or contractor.
