10/24/2022: Lab Update: Register for CDC’s Upcoming Packing and Shipping for Suspected Ebola Specimens Webinar

CDC's Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS)

Audience: Clinical Laboratories

Level: Laboratory Update

Although the risk of a travel-associated Ebola case in the United States is low, CDC’s OneLab Network will host a webinar to support laboratory preparedness for a current outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) caused by the Sudan virus (species Sudan ebolavirus) in Uganda.

OneLab is hosting the Packing and Shipping Considerations for Suspected Ebola Specimens Webinar on Thursday, October 27 from 1-2 PM ET to raise awareness of this outbreak as a precaution and to remind our partners about best practices.

Following an update about the outbreak, CDC will share expectations in the event a patient in the United States is a person under investigation (PUI) for Ebola. The webinar will explain biosafety considerations, including how specimens should be collected, packaged, and shipped for testing at specific public health laboratories.

Register for this free, online webinar.

We encourage you to share this message widely with your networks.
