National Preparedness Month and Laboratory Preparedness

National Preparedness Month is recognized each September to promote family and community disaster and emergency planning throughout the year. It is important for clinical laboratory professionals to also recognize the importance of disaster planning and preparedness as laboratories may be involved in responding to infectious disease outbreaks.

The Division of Laboratory Systems offers trainings to help laboratory professionals prepare for emerging threats and stay current with the newest standards and best practices. Trainings are free and are offered in a variety of modalities, including eLearning courses, in-person workshops, and webinars. Free P.A.C.E. continuing education credits are available for many courses.
