To maintain continuity in operations during the response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Respirator Approval Program is updating the final concurrence process to use electronic signatures. Effective immediately, NIOSH will sign all approval letters, denial letters, and final fee invoices using electronic signatures. Additionally, NIOSH will electronically sign NIOSH and NFPA 1981 Approval Confirmation Forms for CBRN SCBA approvals. Applicants and Approval Holders with questions regarding this change in process should follow standard procedures to contact the NIOSH Respirator Approval Program.
