Rhythm method

NOTE: The“Calendar rhythm” method of contraception is when a woman's fertile period is determined by counting the days from the start of her menstrual period each month. The woman abstains from sexual intercourse on her fertile days or uses another contraceptive method.

Calendar rhythm method use among women 15-44 years of age who have ever had intercourse, 2006-2010:

  • Percentage of women who have ever used the calendar rhythm method1: 18.1%
  • Percentage of women currently using the calendar rhythm method2: 0.6%
