Meeting Information

HICPAC June 6-7 tentative meeting update:

New HICPAC members have been approved by Health and Human Services (HHS) and are currently being added to the roster. To allow enough time for the new committee members to be onboarded and to be able to participate as members in the HICPAC meeting, the June meeting has been delayed, and is now scheduled for August 22, 2024.

In addition, CDC has expanded the scope of interests and technical backgrounds of workgroup liaisons participating on the HICPAC Isolation Guideline Workgroup. Liaisons and committee members are added through established processes in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) regulations and guidance.

Registration is not required to watch HICPAC Meeting webcasts.

The link to the meeting webcast will be posted here shortly before the meeting.

Rules of conduct for HICPAC meetings

Any interested person who wishes to make an oral public comment during a Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) meeting should submit a request to HICPAC before the meeting according to the instructions in the Federal Register Notice.

Those who have not submitted a request before the meeting will not have an opportunity to speak.

Public Comment

Public engagement and input are vital to HICPAC's work. Members of the public are invited to submit comments to HICPAC in two ways: (1) oral comment at public HICPAC meetings and/or (2) written comment via Regulations.gov. See details on when and how to request below.

How to Request to Make a Public Comment

Oral Public Comment

All HICPAC webcasts include time for oral public comment for members of the public. All individuals interested in making an oral public comment need to submit a request. The oral public comment request form is currently closed. Information on submitting a request to make an oral public comment at a public HICPAC meeting will be found here when available.

If the number of persons requesting to speak is greater than can be reasonably accommodated during the scheduled time, CDC will conduct a lottery to determine the speakers for the scheduled public comment session.

To accommodate the significant interest in participation in the oral public comment session of HICPAC meetings, each speaker will be limited to 3 minutes, and each speaker may only speak once per meeting.

Written Public Comment

Any member of the public can submit a written public comment to HICPAC via Regulations.gov. The dates and identifying information on documents displayed for public comment will be found here when available. Currently, there are no HICPAC documents posted to Regulations.gov.

All relevant comments received will be posted without change to https://www.regulations.gov, including any personal information provided. To access the docket or to read background documents or comments received, go to https://www.regulations.gov.

Contact HICPAC Committee Management if you have questions about the meetings.
