The Division of Partnership Support (DPS) leverages partnerships to help develop the capacity of state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) public health systems to sustain and strengthen public health foundational, infrastructure, and workforce capabilities by providing capacity building assistance to the field to improve performance.

Our work

Capacity-Building Through Partnership Grants & Cooperative Agreements
DPS, as part of the Public Health Infrastructure Center, coordinates funding opportunities that provide capacity building assistance to grantees.

Performance Improvement Tools, Training, and Capacity Building Assistance
DPS collaborates with national partners to provide training and support for state, tribal, local, and territorial health departments and professionals. DPS uses a range of tools and capacity building assistance to help improve performance and deliver essential public health services. Areas include health department accreditation, community assessment and planning, quality improvement, and performance improvement training.

Office of Public Health Law Services
The Public Health Law Program works to improve the health of the public by developing law-related tools and providing capacity building assistance on public health laws and legal epidemiology to public health practitioners and policy makers in state, tribal, local, and territorial jurisdictions.

Office of Island Affairs
The Office of Island Affairs collaborates with federal and non-federal partners, CDC programs, and health officials to strengthen public health systems for US territories and freely associated states.
