CDC's Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS)

Audience: Laboratory and Testing Professionals

Level: Laboratory Update

The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC) meets virtually on April 10 this spring. Find more information on the Upcoming Meeting page of the CLIAC website.

The biannual CLIAC meetings are an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals to receive quality and safety updates from CDC, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Presentations and CLIAC discussions will focus on the applicability of CLIA personnel requirements to preanalytic testing, the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the clinical laboratory, and the use of clinical standards to improve laboratory quality. We look forward to your participation! Find the complete agenda on the CLIAC Meeting page.

CLIAC requests that public comments be submitted by Monday, April 8, for this meeting. You can email comments to CLIAC@cdc.gov. Written comments will be included in the meeting Summary Report posted on the CLIAC website.
