On August 2, 2022, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation updated the Transporting Infectious Substances Overview page to include a mpox section under “Special Topics.”
This new mpox section also includes links to the Notice of Enforcement Discretion Regarding Mpox Medical Waste and Planning Guidance for Handling Category A Solid Waste.
