CDC's Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS)

Audience: Individuals Performing COVID-19 Testing

Level: Laboratory Alert

CDC recently updated its LOINC In Vitro Diagnostic (LIVD) Test Code Mapping Tool for SARS-CoV-2 tests. The changes include

  • An update to the BioFire® Defense COVID-19 Test LOINC, which was changed to 95608-6 to accommodate the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) addendum for multiple specimen types. The original EUA was only for nasopharyngeal specimens.
  • A new column for Publication Version ID Last Changed in the tool’s release notes to make it easier to identify the most recent changes. The most recent changes are displayed first, then sorted alphabetically by manufacturer/model/analyte.

Please share this message with your networks and invite them to opt in to LOCS to receive future updates.
