This NIOSH Information Circular 9522 summarizes the research findings into escape and rescue strategies for underground coal mines that was conducted in response to Section 2 of the Mine Improvement and New Emergency Response Act of 2006 ("MINER Act") requirements that operators improve accident preparedness and response.
