Host Site Eligibility and Expectations

Host sites and supervisors are integral to the success of EEP students. Supervisors and colleagues with the host site should be actively involved in projects and assignments and devote time for mentoring, guiding and supporting the overall professional development of the student.

Eligible host site applicants must:

  • Be available during the assigned rotation dates
  • Be at a CDC site, a state, Tribal, local, and territorial health department; or other federal site or agency (e.g., National Park Service, Indian Health Service, Administration for Children and Families)
  • Provide an applied epidemiology-, public health-, or global health-related project or assignment that the student can work on during their 6- or 8- week rotation
  • Agree to terms of the Center, Institute, or Office EEP Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
  • Designate a primary supervisor who can provide professional direction and supervision for the student on projects and assignments
  • Designate a secondary supervisor
  • Designate an administrative contact who can work with the EEP program on administrative tasks
