Rare Disease Day 2019

On the last day of February every year, the world celebrates Rare Disease Day to raise awareness about rare diseases and the impact they have on patients’ lives. Many rare diseases do not have a cure and may go undiagnosed, so it is important for health care professionals and policy makers to understand the needs of individuals living with rare diseases. 2018 Annual Disability Statistics Compendium

DHDD scientist, Dr. Catherine Okoro, attended the 2018 Annual Disability Statistics Compendium event at the National Academy of Sciences in February. She attended the intellectual and developmental disabilities data panel while at the Compendium, and also presented the latest data activity updates from the Disability and Health program on the “Latest on Federal Data Collection” panel.
