COVID-19 Science Update

Scientific information can drive meaningful improvements in people’s health and plays a crucial role to protect the public from COVID-19. Every day, new research and scientific studies are released to help understand COVID-19. Given the large amount of information, it can be difficult to keep up with the latest research.

To inform the public health response to COVID-19, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer for CDC’s COVID-19 emergency response collaborates with the CDC Office of Library Science to create the COVID-19 Science Update. This weekly series provides timely summaries of new COVID-19 publications and preprints on public health priority topics, including vaccines, variants, natural history, reinfection, and health impact; prevention strategies and non-pharmaceutical interventions; testing; transmission risk and dynamics; and health equity. Summaries clearly and accurately capture new and emerging scientific data needed to meet the challenges of this fast-moving public health crisis.
