About the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey

NAMCS is administered by the National Center for Health Statistics, which is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is a national survey on the provision and use of ambulatory medical services. Physicians, healthcare researchers, and policymakers use data from this survey. The NAMCS Provider Interview Component was administered to ambulatory care providers in the United States who are primarily engaged in direct patient care. Information collected on the provider experience includes topics such as provider and practice characteristics, telemedicine, electronic health records usage, and health equity, among others.
