Dr. James Crawford oversees the integrated laboratories of the Northwell Health system. Dr. Crawford is also the Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, New York. He is a leading proponent of the role of pathology and the clinical laboratory industry in patient-centered care and value-based care. As a founding member of the Project Santa Fe Foundation and Chair of the Board of Directors, Dr. Crawford is a leader in the effort to develop the value statements for laboratory diagnostic services in the next era of health care. He is Editor-in-Chief of Academic Pathology, the official journal of the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC). Dr. Crawford’s area of subspecialty practice is Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology.
