CASPER addressing heat vulnerability assessment in Milwaukee

Location: Milwaukee

Purpose: The objectives of this CASPER were the following:

  • Determine the level of preparedness of Milwaukee households in the event of an extreme heat event
  • Assess household vulnerabilities to heat
  • Determine the ways in which Milwaukee residents obtain public health emergency information such as extreme heat advisory warnings
  • Use the results to make changes to policies, procedures, and communication practices to mitigate heat-related health impact
