How Right Now Lived Experience Video Transcript

Visual description: This video includes multiple people from across the United States sitting at a computer in their homes during the covid-19 pandemic, talking and looking into their computer’s camera. An instrumental song plays underneath their words.

Person 1: I have to be honest with you, it's very distressing.

Person 2: The hardest part about it was the isolation.

Person 3: I can't go visit my children. I can't help them if they need me.

Person 4, speaking Spanish: My biggest concern was when I’d be able to get back to work because I am my family’s only provider.

White text on a black screen appears. The text reads “Life is different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are all finding ways to adapt and keep each other safe.”

Person 1, again: Being in the high risk category definitely it makes us think twice about everything that we do.

Person 5: We have to be ultra careful because there's two people in my household that have compromised immune systems.

Person 6: COVID had a significant impact.

Person 7: I was very, very depressed.

Person 3, again: I kind of went through a period where I felt trapped.

Person 4, again, speaking Spanish: What I felt like I lost was my freedom.

Person 6, again: It was depressing to lose so much of our way of life and the way we do things.

Person 5, again: I started speaking with a counselor because I found myself depressed.

Person 2, again: I think that's the biggest thing that people struggle with is they think you have to be an optimist and that means that all the time you have to be happy. You don't. It's okay to be frustrated.

Person 3, again: Even if the end is not as soon as we want, there will be an end eventually.

Person 4, again, speaking Spanish: The sun still rises every day. Every day is a new day.

Person 6, again: We've got to take care of ourselves. We've got to take the time and we've got to make that a priority.

Person 2, again: There's so many things you can still do. You have to just stop concentrating on what you can't do.

White text on a blue background appears. The text reads “We are all facing new challenges and emotions.” The text fades out. More text fades in, reading “Find what helps at HowRightNow dot org”. The text fades out and a lighter blue How Right Now logo with dark gray text and a white arrow appears on the left. On the right is the website HowRightNow dot org.
