This is the FY2017 annual report on the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Extramural Research and Training Program, which marks the first fiscal year under the third decade of NORA (2016–2026). The data in this document reflects the exceptional work of the extramural researchers supported by NIOSH and the Office of Extramural Programs. The report shows how NIOSH invested in its multidisciplinary centers, investigator-initiated research projects, and cooperative research agreements. It also includes information on NIOSH training project grants, state surveillance programs, small business innovation research, and global health initiatives. The report does not include the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program grants. Information about the WTC Health Program is available on the NIOSH WTC website.
