Non-Paid Worker Industry and Occupation Codes 1990-2018

The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and NIOSH created non-Census industry and occupation codes for people who were not in the civilian workforce, such as housewives, volunteers, students, and those without sufficient information. These were created because Census, NAICS, and SOC only include paid industries and occupations.
