摘要

簡介
青少年肥胖與身體活動水平下降有關,而有關中小學兒童身體活動程度的資料很有限。

方法
2005 年 5 月,我們利用佛羅里達州薩拉索塔縣 (Sarasota County) 的社區–學區–大學伙伴關係,以盡量不唐突的方式舉行了一次調查,評估了青少年 (9-13 歲的青少年) 的身體活動程度,並衡量了青少年對疾病控制及預防中心 VERB 計畫的認知度與身體活動參與度之間的關係。在我們調查了參與學校 (4 所小學和 3 所中學) 後,從 5 至 7 年級的學生中收回 1407 份答覆。

結果
總計有 83.1% 的學生達到日常參與激烈程度身體活動 (VPA) 的聯邦建議值,且 58.6% 的學生過去 2 個月嘗試了一項新體育項目或運動。男生前一週參加 VPA 的平均天數 (5.22) 顯著多於女生 (4.35) (P < 0.001) 。6 年級學生前一週參加 VPA 的平均天數 (4.93) 顯著多於 7 年級學生 (4.54) (P = 0.006) ,但未出現按年級持續下降的情況。身體活動與報稱每天參加體育項目或運動的朋友人數顯著相關 (r = 0.369, P < 0.001)。大多數學生 (88.8%) 表示曾經看到、讀到或聽到有關 VERB 的訊息或廣告。VERB 是一項以青少年為中心、促進身體活動和參與新體育項目及運動的全國性社會推廣活動。

結論
儘管女生的 VPA 參與率很高,但她們報告的天數顯著少於男生參與 VPA 的天數。我們發現,參與 VPA 與擁有愛運動的朋友之間有適度的相關性。利用多個社區組織的領導作用,監測青少年的身體活動,可以啟發人們實施各項策略,從而激發青少年嘗試能在青少年時期及今後歲月裡持續參與的新體育項目和運動。
