摘要

良好的教育预示着良好的健康,而且健康和教育成绩两者的不均衡性紧密关联。尽管有这些关联性而且美国所有学生中有近三分之一,黑人、拉丁裔和美洲印第安人学生中有一半不能按时高中毕业,公共卫生专业人士却很少将降低辍学学生的数目作为首要任务。本文中我们概括了对高中毕业的健康益处之了解,并讨论了从高中毕业促进良好健康的途径。我们分析了减少辍学率的策略,重点在于通过改善学生健康从而提高学校毕业率的干预措施。最后,我们向健康专业人士建议了可采取的措施,以作为公共卫生问题改变辍学率,并改善美国的学校毕业率。
