Notice to Readers: Epidemiology in Action Course

The Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and CDC's Office of Workforce and Career Development will cosponsor the course, "Epidemiology in Action," October 31--November 11, 2005, at the Emory University campus. The course is designed for state and local public health professionals; tuition is charged.

The course emphasizes the practical application of epidemiology to public health problems and consists of lectures, workshops, classroom exercises (including actual epidemiologic problems), and roundtable discussions. Topics include descriptive epidemiology and biostatistics, analytic epidemiology, epidemic investigations, public health surveillance, surveys and sampling, Epi Info (Windows version) training, and discussions of selected prevalent diseases.
