Explore by Location

Viewing VHI Data by Location

The Explore by Location page allows you to select a location and view VHI information for the selected location. You can select up to 8 indicators to display on a page. To view VHI data on this page, select a Location, Topic, and Year from the dropdown lists and click GO. The system displays the data in 1 to 8 small panels. When viewing data, you can choose to view one year of data or all available years, stratify data by breakout category, and view data in graph or tabular format.

The Explore by Location Page

This is an image of the Explore by Location page with descriptions of how to use each section.  1. Top section:  Use this section to select options for viewing available locations by selecting a Location, Topic, Year, and clicking GO. 2. Right Top section: Use this section to hide/show footnotes, view Methodology and Limitations information, export all data on the page in PDF format, and view the data for all available locations. 3. Right Middle section: Click the wheel icon to view survey question details or export the data in a panel in PDF or CSV format. Click the chart or table icon to change the display type in a panel-- chart or table. 4. Right Bottom section graph: Hover your mouse on a data point or bar to view more information. 5. Left Top section: Use this section to select year(s) or change the option for viewing data, e.g. Age, Gender, etc.

Selecting Indicators to View

By default, the system displays the first 8 indicators. The maximum number of indicators you can display on a page at one time is 8.

To change the indicators displayed:

  1. Click the Select Indicators to View link. The system displays the Select Indicators to View pop-up window. This is an image of the Select Indicators to View pop-up window and description of how to use:  Click the Clear All link to deselect all the indicators. At least one indicator must be selected.
  2. Change the selected indicator(s).
    Note: You cannot select more than 8 indicators.
  3. Click Save to retain your changes. The system displays data for the newly selected indicators on the Explore by Location page.

Footnotes

The Footnotes section at the bottom of a panel, when available, provides more information for the content displayed in a panel. This section explains the symbols displayed in the panel, displays important notes about the data, and oher pertinent information. To hide this section, click the Hide Footnotes link, to display it again, click the Show Footnotes link.

Note

The Note section displays more information for the data that are displayed on the page.

Measure Definitions

The Measure Definitions section provides a description for the measures that are used on the page.

Suggested Citation

The Suggested Citation section provides reference information for the information displayed on the page.

Related Links

The Related Links section contains links to other sites on the Web. When you click these links, the system takes you to the related sites. These sites are not contained within the VHI system.
