Welcome to Frontera Saludable, an initiative for the care of your health!

Your work takes you to different places and puts you in contact with many different people. To protect yourself from COVID-19 and prevent infecting your loved ones, it is important to follow basic prevention measures.
COVID: How to Protect Yourself, Your Family, and Your Trucker Community
There are many things you can do to help protect you, your household, and your community from severe illness from COVID-19. In addition to basic health and hygiene practices, like handwashing, here are some other things you can do:
- Staying Up to Date with COVID-19 Vaccines
- Improving Ventilation
- Getting Tested for COVID-19 If Needed
- Staying Home If You Have Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19
- Seeking Treatment If You Have COVID-19 and Are at High Risk of Getting Very Sick
- Avoiding Contact with People Who Have Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19
More Prevention Actions
There are some more prevention actions that you can take especially where the risk of COVID-19 is higher:
- When caring for someone who is sick with COVID-19.
- If you are at increased risk for severe illness, for example, people who are immunocompromised, older adults, and people with certain underlying medical conditions.
- When working where you interact with large numbers of the public, especially when not everyone is wearing a mask. For example, bus drivers and grocery store workers.
- When riding on planes, buses, trains, or other forms of public transportation, especially for a long period of time and it’s
- When physical distancing is not possible or when you are in crowded indoor or outdoor public settings.
- If you are not up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations.
When wearing a mask or respirator (for example, N95), it is most important to choose one that you can wear correctly, that fits closely to your face over your mouth and nose, that provides good protection, and that is comfortable for you.
The closer you are to a greater number of people, the more likely you are to be exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19. To avoid possible exposure, you may want to avoid crowded areas, or keep distance between yourself and others.
