Types of CE for Health Professionals
CDC is accredited by five organizations to provide nine types of Continuing Education (CE) for U.S. health professionals and the global public health community. Access to credits, continuing education units (CEUs), and contact hours for all educational activities is provided at no cost.

In support of improving patient care, CDC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Under Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), CDC is accredited to provide CE for

Registered nurses should request continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours. Most U.S. State Boards of Nursing accept ANCC contact hours. California and Iowa licensed registered nurses have special considerations.
