2013 Funding (Year 4)

  • Amount of funding: $300,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Support efforts toward state and local public health district accreditation readiness
    • Improve efficiency in business practices such as grant approval processes and job description standardization
    • Improved collection and use of data for the Idaho Food Protection Program
    • Enhance efficiency in laboratory document storage for the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories
    • Continue implementation of the Emergency Medical Services Online Rural Training Initiative

2012 Funding (Year 3)

  • Amount of funding: $300,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Conduct a self-assessment of public health accreditation readiness
    • Partner with local public health districts in planning efforts
    • Encourage partnerships and collaborations across various public health partners to strengthen healthcare systems
    • Support local public health district public health accreditation readiness activities
    • Improve the delivery of emergency medical services continuing education opportunities
    • Identify business practices that can be simplified and streamlined
    • Explore return on investment activities related to public health practices

2011 Funding (Year 2)

  • Amount of funding: $300,000
  • Description of Project
    Awardee will:
    • Increase the use of evidence-based policies and practices being implemented
    • Implement a quality improvement culture and practice throughout the department
    • Help the Idaho Bureau of Labs to decide on a laboratory accreditation program, finish the draft Quality Assurance Plan, begin its implementation, and develop an internal auditing system for staff and procedures

2010 Funding (Year 1)

Component I

  • Amount of funding: $200,000
  • Description of Project:
    Awardee will:
    • Focus on building, institutionalizing, and implementing performance management capacity within health departments
    • Support full-time "Performance Improvement Manager" who will participate in a national network of performance improvement professionals supported by CDC
