Description: This session provided an overview of the evaluation plan and activities for NPHII, with a special focus on activities to be conducted through May 2012. The presentation addressed the evaluation purpose, main indicators, and methods for the evaluation.

Key Themes and Highlights:

  • The evaluation is intended to help tell the story about the accomplishments made by the governmental NPHII grantees
    • Demonstrate accountability for ACA funds
    • Document baseline and initial gains in capacity
    • Understand the achievements and impact of NPHII
  • The evaluation will be integrated with program monitoring so that data from the evaluation can inform the development and improvement of the program
  • The evaluation is designed to minimize duplication of data collection efforts. NNPHI and CDC pledge to coordinate data collection activities with the Senior Public Health Advisors and national partners.
