Surveillance and Reporting

There is no national reporting or surveillance system for Chlamydia pneumoniae infections. However the true number of people affected by the infection is unknown and likely underestimated. 1

Outbreaks occur mostly in crowded environments like college residence halls and nursing homes. Visit the publications page for articles on some outbreaks that involved C. pneumoniae.
