Gastrointestinal Signs or Symptoms That Warrant Immediate Action

Some signs or symptoms may indicate complications of Chagas disease that merit immediate evaluation and intervention.

Gastrointestinal warning signs include progression of dysphagia or regurgitation, abrupt weight loss, and signs of acute intestinal obstruction.

Colonic signs/symptoms Evaluate for
Acute abdomnial pain Volvulus, intestinal ischemia including emboli
