Namita Joshi is the Deputy Director for Policy and Communications in the Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria.

Ms. Joshi has more than 20 years of experience working in the public health and policy arenas. She joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1998 as a Presidential Management Intern with the Office on Smoking and Health, where she worked on global tobacco issues and policy issues for more than five years. She subsequently provided policy and scientific support for programs within CDC’s National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, and the Center for Global Health, where she supported the Global Disease Detection Program, the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) and other global activities more broadly.

Ms. Joshi has Masters Degrees in Medical Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University and Public Administration from Kent State University.
