Yolanda Gaines, MPH

Yolanda Gaines, MPH is the Acting Associate Director of Management Resources for the Office of Readiness and Response.
Ms. Gaines started at CDC in 1989 with the Associate Director for Minority Health in which she served in a variety of capacities, including, Administrative Assistant and Management and Program Analyst.
While serving in various positions at CDC, Ms. Gaines competed in the 1992 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials for a spot on the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team in the 400 meters.
She later transitioned to the role of Administrative Officer in the National Center for Health Marketing Business Services Office. She also served as the Program Management Officer in Bacterial Special Pathogens Branch, Division of High-Consequence Pathogens and Pathology in NCEZID where she managed the Program Management Activities.
She began her federal career as a Program Operations Assistant with the U.S. Army Garrison in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1988.
Ms. Gaines earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in Atlanta, and a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and Health Education from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
