Dental Sealants (Cavities)


Disparities still exist. Low-income children without sealants have about 60% more cavities in their 1st permanent molars than higher-income children.

82% of low-income children without dental sealants had cavities in their first molars, compared to 52% of higher-income children without sealants.

Among children with sealants, 29% of low-income children had first molar cavities compared to 19% for higher-income children.
